Guacamole is a basic Mexican sauce. It’s becoming more popular now when everyone is obsessed with healthy eating.
Today I’m sharing with you a classic recipe for guacamole. My friend Julia made it for me, and she learned this recipe from her Mexican colleagues.
A few rules:
? Basic or classic guacamole uses only avocado, lime juice, herbs (mint or coriander), and salt. Other ingredients can be added according to your taste and are optional.
? For guacamole, you want ripe but not over-ripe avocado.
How to choose the perfect avocado:
- It should be soft but not mushy.
- Flick off the stem. If you find green underneath, the avocado is nice and ripe.
? And another important rule, that the Mexican colleagues insisted on, guacamole should be mashed not blended to get this paste-like consistency with bite-size pieces of avocado.
Guacamole turns out great and pairs perfectly with different dishes. I served it with grilled salmon.
