Meatloaf is present in a variety of cuisines around the world. They add various spices, eggs and ham or even make it using a combination of different meats. What I like is the classic Czech meatloaf, Sekaná pečeně. It’s very juicy, with a browned crust and not greasy at all.
Of the spices, I use only black pepper, which is why it has a natural meat flavor, like cutlets, but more tender. We will, of course, make a gluten-free and dairy-free version.
In Czech cuisine, such a meatloaf is baked by shaping it and laying it on a baking sheet. I recommend making it in a baking mold, as it is more convenient.
Meatloaf goes well with any side dishes and salads. It is also a great breakfast!

Place a baking sheet with hot water (water level is about 2 cm) on the bottom rack of the oven, followed by the meatloaf on the middle rack. It will make the meatloaf very juicy. If you want a browned crust, take out the water at the end of baking and set the meatloaf under the grill for 5 to 10 minutes. |
