Steps

1
Done

Preheat the oven to 240 degrees Celsius.

2
Done

Remove the seeds and cut the apples into eight slices. Then place the apples on the bottom of the baking dish.

3
Done

Rub the duck legs with salt and pepper on all sides and lay them on the apples with their skins on top.
Pour water on the bottom of the baking dish. Make sure the water does not touch the duck.
On each leg, put a sprig of thyme.

4
Done

Cover the legs with baking paper. Then, cover the dish tightly with tin foil and put it into the oven.
First, bake the dish for 15 minutes at 240 degrees Celsius. During this time, the meat will heat up. Then lower the temperature to 160 degrees Celsius and bake it for about 1.5 to 2 hours. Over that time, the duck legs will become tender and preserve maximum nutrients.

5
Done

After the duck is cooked, take it out of the oven and remove the tin foil and paper. Scoop up 1 tbsp of the melted grease and mix it with honey. Smear it on the duck skin and set it under the grill to brown for 5 minutes.
The duck is done!
