Directions
This recipe for a gluten-free crumble is just amazing! The crumbly topping bakes up perfectly crisp and stays the same even on the next day! It’s wonderful. And, just like any other crumble, it’s very quick and easy to make!
The crumble in the photo is much darker because of coconut sugar. If you’re going to use another kind of sugar, the crumble will have a lighter color.
For this recipe, I use my home-made all-purpose flour. I recommend you to try it out, too! It’s gluten-free. Check out the recipe here. If you’re using a store-bought flour mix, make sure it contains psyllium husk or xanthan gum. Add some, if it doesn’t.
Though the recipe makes apple crumble, you can choose any fruit or berry or a combination of them for the filling, like apples and rhubarb, for example. For the crumble in the photo, I used 2 apples, some fresh pineapples, raisins, and rhubarb. It was delicious.
And the last tip. The crumble tastes the best when the filling is a bit sour, and the crumbly topping is sweet. So apples, fruit, or berries for the filling should be sour. If they’re not sour enough, add more lemon juice.
Enjoy!
