Do you freeze broth?

It very handy and saves a lot of time!

Traditional chicken broth is prepared within 3-4 h, whereas as beef broth – 6-8 h. So it would be much more convenient to once cook a big amount of broth (I use 10 l pot) and freeze a part of it in portions. And your next soup will be done in recordingly short time : )

Tips for freezing:

  • Use special bags for freezing – they are compact and flexible and prevent leaks and spoilage.
  • Do not use large bags otherwise the frozen “plate” of broth won’t fit the pot and you will have to crack it.
  • Do not place the bags on top of one another while broth is still liquid, otherwise the lower bag can blow out (I once had an accident).
  • Lie the bags with broth flat on a freezer shelf to freeze flat so they are easy to stack.
