This bread is made from, yes, sunflower seeds! This is a dense and very tasty bread without any flour or eggs. It is made very simply, you don’t even need to look for a special flour, just grind the raw sunflower seeds in a food processor.

Try it, especially if you like roasted seeds:) I love it and bake this kind of bread regularly.

Steps

1
Done

Grind the raw sunflower seeds in a food processor into flour. Place the flour into a large bowl then add the remaining dry ingredients and mix them well with a whisk until smooth.

2
Done

Add the olive oil, lemon juice and water. Mix all the ingredients quickly, first with a spoon and then with your hand. The dough will be dense like clay. Let the dough stand for 5 minutes.

3
Done

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
Shape the dough into an oblong shape. Put it in a baking pan covered with baking paper. Slightly wet the surface of the bread with your hand, sprinkle it with seeds and slightly press them into the surface to make them stick.

4
Done

Place the bread into the lower part of the oven and bake it for about 50 minutes. If you are baking 2 small loaves, adjust or decrease the baking time. The surface of the bread and the seeds will toast. The bread won't rise during the baking process.

5
Done

Now take the bread out of the pan, remove the baking paper and put the bread back into the oven directly on the baking tray and bake it for another 15 minutes.

6
Done

Take the bread out and let it cool completely before you slice it.
