This dish reminds me of the South of France! After visiting my friend I suddenly decided to start my lunch from an appetizer and a glass of wine instead of soup : )

We were eating a lot of goat cheese and were surrounded by fig trees in France.

Baked figs with goat cheese, honey and nuts is incredibly deliciously paired with a glass of red wine.

Steps

1
Done

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius.

2
Done

Make an X cut in the top of each fig half way through and open them up.

3
Done

In the center of each fig, place a piece of goat cheese, add walnuts on top slightly pressing them into the cheese, pour 1 tsp honey and some liqueur over.

If you don’t feel like warming up honey, you may pour it over right before serving.

4
Done

Bake for 10 min. The walnuts will become brown, the cheese will melt, the figs will bake through.

5
Done

Serve straight away.
