Krumiri are traditional cookies originated from the Italian city Casale Montferrato. These cookies are extremely popular in Italy where they’ve been known since the 19th century. They were even mentioned in newspaper when in 1884 they were awarded a medal at the Universal Exhibition held in Turin. Krumiri are a delicacy of the kings and state leaders and they are often served at summits. The cookies is easily recognizable by their half moon shape.
Classic krumiri are made from wheat flour and are very tender and crunchy. But today we are going to add corn flour as well to make the cookies bright and even more crunchy.
Those cookies in the photos I made using a piping bag and then shaped them into horseshoe. But you can make it by shaping it with your hands.
