These whole-grain flax buns are just adorable! These cute and soft buns are a healthy combo of buckwheat and oat flours, flaxseeds, and psyllium. They are somewhat light in color but so much healthier!

So easy and quick to make!

Enjoy!

Steps

1
Done

Sieve the dry ingredients in a mixing bowl. Combine together with a whisk.

2
Done

Add water to the dry ingredients and mix with a spoon until smooth. It will get thicker as you mix. You should end up with thick, wet, and sticky dough. Let it sit for 5 min, it will get stiffer.

3
Done

In a bowl, pour some water for wetting hands. In another, add oats. Shape the dough into 8 balls (4-5 cm in diameter or bigger, if you want) and arrange them on parchment paper or a silicone mat. Sprinkle them with oats.

4
Done

Cover them with plastic wrap and let sit for 30 min in a warm place, or 45 min if it’s cool.
The buns will get about 20% bigger.

5
Done

Preheat the oven (and your baing tray) to 200 degrees with convention or 210 degrees without it.
Transfer the buns together with parchment paper to the baking tray and bake for 25-30 min. They will start browning. Take them out, transfer to the cooling rack to let cool completely.
Best eating on the same day you make them.
Enjoy!
