Pollo alla cacciatora – is a popular Italian dish. It’s so easy and super tasty!!! Poultry or rabbit (chicken in our case) stewed in tomato sauce with herbs and cherry tomatoes, which add some fresh notes to the dish.

There is a thousand of variations of this recipe. I love the one by Gennaro Contaldo, which I am sharing with you today. If you like stewed chicken you must try out this recipe!

Bon appetite!

Steps

1
Done

Cut each leg in half. Pat dry with kitchen paper.

2
Done

Heat the olive oil in a skillet or a casserole over medium high heat.

3
Done

Pan-fry the chicken, browning all over.

4
Done

Cut the onion in semi-circles, peel and crush the garlic with a knife. Cut the chili pepper into thin circles.

5
Done

Add the onion, chili pepper, garlic and herbs to the chicken. Pan fry for 1-2 min over medium heat. At this stage divine flavors will be released.

6
Done

Add the whine and let alcohol evaporate.

7
Done

Add the tomato paste mixed with water.

8
Done

Cut the cherry tomatoes in half and add to the skillet.
