Customers often ask me, “What can I eat that is delicious?” “For daily meals,” I answer, “You can have various nuts, apples, pears, apricots and other not too sweet fruits, berries and nutty paste on a gluten-free cracker.” However, what to do if guests come over, what to serve them with tea and coffee? How can you not feel yourself being deprived?

For a rare treat, this gorgeous halva is a good one. It has a lot of different nuts, sesame, and coconut. Dried cherries add sourness to it, and honey adds sweetness. If you are going to have a good time, then do it right!

Halva is very easy to make, you mix it all up, place it in a form and let it harden in the fridge. Then cut it into squares and put it in the freezer. The dessert is ready for any occasion! Before serving, if it is taken out of the freezer, let it stand for 3 to 5 minutes at room temperature.

My guests are thrilled and so am I!

Steps

1
Done

Roast the pine nuts in a dry frying pan until crispy and then let them cool. Place them, along with the pistachios, in a food processor and chop them shortly into large chunks, or just chop them with a knife. Sometimes I leave them whole.

2
Done

Mix all the other ingredients thoroughly in a bowl. Add the nuts and mix them all together.

3
Done

Put the mixture into a form covered with baking paper so that it will be easier to take the halva out later and press it well. The layer should be about 1.5 to 2 cm thick and tight without any air inside.

4
Done

Place it into the fridge for about 1 to 2 hours. Then take the halva out of the form, cut it into squares and serve or freeze and store in the freezer until serving.
