Brownies are widely known and beloved dessert of American origin. This pretty new dessert was invented in the USA in the late 1800s and became especially popular within and beyond the USA and Canada because of its rich chocolate taste and ease of making.

Brownies can be of various kinds that differ in consistency because of different ratios of their ingredients and slight differences in technique.

So, the main types of brownies are:

Fudgy brownies are ones with fudgy middles.

Cakelike brownies are more crispy and similar to a chocolate cake.

Chewy brownies are more thick and chewy.

Blondies contain no chocolate.

I suggest you make cakelike brownies with walnuts. An extremely tender and super-crispy dessert. Tastes fantastic. Easy to make. The perfect dessert to treat you beloved ones to!

Tips:

Brownies taste depends heavily on chocolate. I recommend you use high-quality one.

Steps

1
Done

Preheat the oven to 190 degrees Celsius.

2
Done

Line a 24x33 cm square cake pan with parchment paper, leaving a few centimeters overhang on the sides.

3
Done

Break the chocolate into pieces, dice the butter and place them into a pot. Melt over the lowest heat or using a water bath, stirring constantly. When the mixture is melted and smooth, remove from heat and let chill for a while.

4
Done

In a bowl, add the eggs and a pinch of salt. Beat with a mixer at low speed for 2 min. Then add brown sugar and beat at high speed for 5-7 min. The mixture should double in volume and become white.

5
Done

With a spatula, fold in the melted chocolate. Don’t mix for too long in order not to lose the volume.

6
Done

Add the sifted flour and nuts, mix with a spatula, not for along as well.

7
Done

Pour the batter in the cake pan and place in the oven.

8
Done

The total baking time is 20-25 min. 10 min after, reduce the temperature to 180 degrees Celsius.

9
Done

Check for doneness with a wooden stick - it should come out dry. Try not to overbake, otherwise your brownies will be very dry.

10
Done

Take out and let chill. Using parchment paper overhang, lift the brownies.

Cut into squares and serve with milk, tea or coffee.

How to serve:

Serve as a dessert with milk, coffee or tea. Can also be served with ice cream.
